REMARKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM DIRECTOR M. CAMPBELL (IN ABSENTIA, W. SACHSE SPEAKING)
Professor W. Sachse gave a brief update on Prof. Campbell’s behalf.

REMARKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES – W. SACHSE
Professor W. Sachse announced that the mid-semester survey was completed and results were distributed to the faculty.
Professor W. Sachse discussed a number of administrative issues associated with grades and deadlines.

REMARKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR GRADUATE STUDIES – B. KIRBY
Professor B. Kirby provided an update on the graduate admission process, including that the current early acceptance/rejections are in line with expectations from previous years.
Professor B. Kirby presented metrics he is developing for ranking graduate student applicants.
Professor B. Kirby presented a plan for graduate student recruiting and distributed copies of a proposal he has submitted to the Cornell University Graduate School to obtain funding for increasing the diversity of the Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering applicant pools.

STATUS OF FACULTY SEARCHES – M. PSIAKI (SPACE)/E. GARCIA (SYSTEMS).
Professor M. Psiaki announced dates for upcoming on-site interviews for the space search.
Professor E. Garcia announced a schedule for a final decision on the systems search.

Professor R. Shepherd presented a new Syllabet for a 3 unit elective course titled “Innovative Product Design via Digital Manufacturing”.

Professor D. Erickson presented a new Syllabet for a 3 unit elective course titled “Biofluid Mechanics and Physiological Transport”.
